The Sandwich Glossary K-L gives you words and terms that have to do with this perfectly, portable meal. It can be as simple or as complex as you like. You can take it to work for lunch or eat it for breakfast or dinner.

The list below contains words we have found so far that begin with K or L. You can add to the list as well. We've added a form below and you can add a term and the definition of a word that we haven't listed.

It would be really great if our international visitors could add words that relate as well. Pretty soon we'll have a great resource.

Sandwich Glossary K-L

K

  • Kabob Wrap (Middle Eastern) - Grilled meat kabobs served with fresh veggies and sauce in flatbread or pita.  
  • Kalakukko (Finland) - A traditional Finnish fish pie made with rye dough; can be considered a "sealed sandwich."  
  • Katsu Sando (Japan) - A Japanese sandwich featuring breaded and fried pork or chicken cutlet with tangy sauce on milk bread.  
  • Kaya Toast (Singapore) - Toasted bread filled with coconut jam (kaya) and butter, often served with soft-boiled eggs.
  • Kebab - (Middle East) A sandwich made with grilled meat (often lamb or chicken) served in a pita or flatbread, often with vegetables and sauces.
  • Keema Naan Roll (India) - Spiced minced meat (keema) rolled into naan bread, often accompanied by chutneys.
Kentucky Hot Brown
  • Kentucky Hot Brown (United States) - An open-faced sandwich with turkey, bacon, and Mornay sauce, baked until bubbly.
  • Khachapuri Sandwich (Georgia) - Inspired by Georgian khachapuri, featuring gooey cheese-filled bread with optional meat.

  • Kolbász Sandwich (Hungary) - Hungarian sausage (kolbász) served with mustard, onions, and crusty bread.  
  • Korean BBQ Beef Wrap (Korea) - Thinly sliced marinated beef wrapped with greens, kimchi, and spicy sauce in a tortilla.  
  • Kouign-Amann Breakfast Sandwich (France) - A buttery pastry (kouign-amann) used as a base for breakfast fillings like egg and bacon.
